STUDENT HOUSING FYI

  • Do I have to share a bedroom?

Yep, it’s called the shared housing program for a reason. Roomies are part of the deal—make peace with it now.

  • How many total will be in my apartment?

It depends on the floor plan. A 2-bedroom can house 3 or 4 tenants in total, while a 3-bedroom can pack in 4 or 5. Get ready to make some new best frenemies.

  • Is the listed rent price split between roommates, or is that just me?

It’s just you. Rent pricing is by the bed, so you’re responsible for your own monthly portion. Your roommates are on their own leases—no splitting, no blame games.

  • What is included in my rent?

Rent.Live covers the essentials: your rent, furniture, and utilities like water and electricity. The basics are handled—you’re welcome.

  • What about internet?

Unless your property includes it, the internet is on you. Check your move-in email for details on preferred providers, then get connected so you’re not the one hot spotting during game night.

  • What's the first thing I need to pay when applying?

You’ll need to pay a $99 application fee to secure your spot!

  • When do I pay my rent before moving in?

Rent.Live sets you up for a smooth start—your first full month’s rent (for the month you'll actually be living there) is due 60 days before move-in. For instance, if you're moving in on July 2, you'll be paying August's rent in advance. This gives you a breather while your financial aid gears up.

  • When is my prorated rent due for the month I move in?

Your prorated rent is due on the 1st day of the month you move in. For example, if your move-in day is June 2, your prorated rent for June is due on June 1.

  • Can I bring my pet?

Nope. No pets allowed. This isn’t a zoo, and your roommate probably doesn’t want to share a room with your snake or guinea pig.

  • What are the rules?

Oh, we’ve got rules. Click here for Section 2.1: Rules and Regulations. Read it. Know it. Live

  • Can I tour the actual apartment before move-in?

No, you won’t be able to scope out your exact unit before move-in day. However, you can tour the property and check out a similar floor plan model—assuming there’s one available.

  • Will my school’s financial aid pay my rent?

Typically, you’re on your own for rent until your FA kicks in. You'll need to cover rent out-of-pocket at first—so definitely check with your FA rep to find out when your first check drops versus your first rent bill. Stay ahead of the game!
